Jesus "Jessie" Balderas Flores, 81, of Chehalis, passed away at his home in Chehalis Thursday, May 18, 2017, after a long battle with a debilitating illness. He was born on July 3, 1935, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico; the son of Jose Guadalupe and Antonia Balderas Flores.
Jessie attended school until the sixth grade and was a hard working husband and father. He married the love of his life, Jovita Nino, April 17, 1956, in Alamo, Texas and the two raised a wonderful family.
He spent some time as a volunteer fire fighter in Caldwell, Idaho, but he most enjoyed working as a farmer and laborer for his close friend, Alfred Hamilton. When Alfred died in 2004, Jessie continued to work for the Hamilton family, 52 years in all.
Jessie loved to dance, he danced to polkas, chotis, and to Rock' n' Roll music, with his wife and daughters. His favorite music was Tex-Mex, or Tejano; a combination of country music with elements of blues, ranchera, and mariachi, with accordion for flavor. He also loved to go fishing any chance he would get.
Jessie is survived by his devoted wife, Jovita; son, Homero Flores; daughters, Marie (Roy Sr.) Triana, Odilia Alaniz, Criselda Flores, and Noelia Flores, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, sister, Paula F. Brewer of Donna, Texas; and brother, Guillermo Flores of Greenleaf, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Antonia and a sister, Victoria F. Campos.
The family would like to thank the late, Alfred R. Hamilton for the love and care he showed Jessie throughout his employment.
